Dallas J. Heibel, 26, of Belle Plaine, dies after his car leaves a county road and hits a tree near LeCenter. His wife, Margaret, 26, suffers critical injuries as Minnesota records 49 highway deaths for the year, up from 54 a year ago this date. Another fatality, Melvin Meiser, 23, of Minneapolis, dies after his car strikes a tree in Robbinsdale.
