New Wing Planned for St Olaf Hospital in 75-Bed Expansion
Plans call for a 75 bed addition south of the 1941 wing at St Olaf Hospital to cost about 850000 with furnishings and changes bringing total above a million dollars. The St Olaf Hospital Association will finance much of the project with some local donations. Construction is slated to start in spring and take about 18 months, with bids issued within two weeks and completion not expected until 1956. The overhaul includes moving the cottage, relocating labs, and creating four operating rooms with delivery and nursery spaces plus a special nursery for at risk babies.
