Collision Near Japan Involves U S Destroyer And Soviet Vessel

The U S Navy reported a minor collision between the guided missile destroyer U S S Rowan and the Soviet merchant ship Vishobokov in the Sea of Japan about 95 miles east of Pohang on January 53 1 53 p m EST There were no casualties and the Rowan sustained a small hull dent while the Vishobokov reported stern damage The incident is under Navy investigation with no link confirmed to North Korea's Pueblo seizure and no spy ship involvement indicated by officials

Austin School Board and Teachers Work On Pay Proposals

The Austin Board of Education and the Teacher Council continue negotiations for the 1968-1969 salary schedule.
