Minneapolis wheat prices on February 1 show May at 1.03 and July at 1.04. Grades listed include No. 1 hard 1.05 and No. 1 Northern around 1.03 to 1.04, with No. 2 Northern near 1.00 to 1.02 and No. 3 Northern around 96 to 1.00.
In Duluth on February 1 the grain market shows wheat on track with futures for May and July rising modestly. Hard wheat leads at 1.0514 dollars and Northern grades hover around 1.04 to 1.02 dollars while flax futures reach about 2.65 to 2.66 dollars for May.
St Paul February 1 cattle prices show good to choice steers 5.50 to 6.50, fair to good 6.00 to 5.50. cows and heifers 4.50 to 5.25. veal 6.50 to 7.50. Hogs range 7.10 to 7.45. Sheep include wethers 3.25 to 4.00, yearlings 4.00 to 6.00, spring lambs 5.00 to 5.60.

In Kenosha Wisconsin on February 2 farmer C J Jacobson discovered the body of Mary Zahon twenty four daughter of Paul Zahon Somers. She vanished January 8 and police across the country had searched for her. The body wore only underwear and showed numerous bruises. The corpse appeared frozen and long exposed to the cold, suggesting death weeks prior.

Fred Leighti a 53 year old Swiss saloon keeper is dead after a quarrel in his Monroe Wisconsin saloon when Cuban cigarmaker George Berci 43 demanded more liquor and Berci shot him then killed himself by shooting in the chest leaving him dying in the street as police investigated the double shooting.

Frank Bell, John Keiser and John Klick, hunters from La Crosse, Wisconsin, chased two wildcats south of town. They lost two dogs when one cat treed. The second cat attacked as its mate charged, but a hunter intervened and the pair was shredded by claws before the animal retreated.
