Silver Bay Couple Die in Collision on U S 61
In Duluth Minnesota a two car crash Tuesday evening killed three people. Edward P. Rieder Jr. 38 and his wife Anne 35 of Silver Bay died in the head on crash along with 15 year old Nadeen Stolpe of Duluth. The Rieder's 23 month old daughter Renee was seriously injured as was Donald J. Witzman 19 the driver in Stolpe's car. The Rieder family includes four children ages 10 7 and 5 and fledgling details note Reserve Mining industrial engineer Edward Rieder Jr. survived by parents Edward Sr. and Mrs. Rieder and brother Richard. Police say the crash occurred on a straight clear stretch of highway and that Rieder and Witzman were the drivers. The Minnesota traffic toll rose to 49 for the year and trails the 1965 pace.
