Holdup waves hit Minneapolis stores and Nokomis Inn
Holdup men struck nearly simultaneously at two Minneapolis spots on Friday night. Robert W. Bentz, 25, Nokomis Inn manager, was beaten and robbed of $8000 as he returned from a bank. A Willis Jewelers clerk handed over $600, while an office window shattering lamp was used to scare off the gunman. Parcel post deliveries planned for Sunday and Christmas. Postmaster Pierce says this will be the heaviest Christmas mailing season in Austin.

Fire Destroys Mining Shops Near Keewatin
A $500000 blaze Friday night destroyed the Section 18 shops of M. A. Hanna Mining Co. two miles north of Keewatin. The 80 by 140 foot quonset structures burned for four hours, with two mining trucks and a welding truck lost. Three workers were inside the shop but could not stop the fire. The cause is under investigation.

Missing C-54 Crash List Names 34 Aboard
Dozens of U S personnel were aboard a C 54 transport that crashed on a Philippine 9234 foot mountain Tuesday. Officials released the names of 34 aboard and said 3 more were missing. A 15 man search team fought thick clouds to reach the wreckage as planes could not approach the rugged peak.
