Tragedy in Brooklyn Cab Deaths Shielded by Self-Inflicted Shot

In New York a cab murder suicide occurred in Brooklyn. Elsie Kerlin twenty two and Bernard E Wallace eighteen died after shots were fired inside the car near the Williamsburg Bridge. Wallace killed Kerlin then shot himself.

Powers on the Stand in Goebel Murder Trial

Caleb Powers testified in his own defense in a murder trial over William Goebel. He described the mountain army as a moral force in the Frankfort election contest, denied violence, and said no instructions were given for trouble. He discussed locating the Marlin rifle and recalled Youtsey at Powers office window seeking trouble.

State Treasurer Glazier Shows Notable Improvement

Chelsea Michigan December 17 state treasurer Frank P Glazier whose illness was said to be critical is now reported greatly improved. He has been ill at his home since the disclosure three weeks ago of financial troubles involving the Glazier Store company the Chelsea Savings Bank and other Glazier interests and his resignation was demanded by Governor Warner.
