President Johnson using a White House dinner to propose sending a team of medical teachers and scientists to Pakistan led by Dr. Donald F. Hornig to improve medical training rural health and public health. Ayub welcomed the offer and stressed continued U.S. friendship despite tensions over Kashmir and Vietnam.
At the AFL-CIO convention in San Francisco delegates endorse a resolution pledging support for President Johnson and measures deemed necessary to halt the Communist threat in North Vietnam.
