Reformatory Fire Halts Activities at St Cloud Auditorium
A late Wednesday fire heavily damaged the auditorium on the third floor of the main building at the Minnesota state reformatory in St. Cloud. No injuries were reported as inmates were secured in their cells and 1000 inmates remained in other blocks. The auditorium was vacant when the fire began at about 4 15 p m and defective wiring was listed as the cause. Firefighters from St. Cloud fought the blaze, and delinquents housed on the floor above were moved without incident.
