House Adopts Impeachment of Judge Swayne in Florida Case

Washington December fourteen. The house of representatives by a near full turnout adopted a resolution to impeach Judge Charles Swayne of the Northern District of Florida for high crimes and misdemeanors after more than five hours of discussion. A senate notice group and case presentation committee were appointed. This follows the 1876 Belknap impeachment as a historic parallel.
