The Little Cedar Norwegian Lutheran congregation marked its 50th anniversary with a packed morning service and reparations to the country church. Pastors Rev. Ostby Rev. Hofstad Rev. Waldeland Rev. Muess and Rev. Torkveen attended. a 113 dollar foreign missions offering was raised.

Austin Lodge 414 held its annual Lodge of Sorrow at the Gem theatre Sunday afternoon. Exalted Ruler C. I. Riley presided as Rev J F Stout offered the invocation and Judge John M Willis of St Paul delivered the memorial address. The program featured Miss Lucy Thomas piano solos and a quartet with Mrs A M Lewis Mrs Ray Pooler Dr A N Collins and J L Mitchell. Despite winter weather attendance was better than expected and the exercises lasted about an hour ending with benediction.

Death of Rev Dr Goodsell Resident Bishop of New York
Rev Dr Daniel Ayres Goodsell, resident bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church in New York, died at his city residence after several weeks illness following a carbuncle operation. Born in Newburg New York in 1840 he entered the ministry in 1859 and served as literary editor of the Christian Advocate from 1880 to 1888. He became bishop in 1888 and was appointed resident bishop of New York three years ago. He marked the fiftieth anniversary of his ordination last year. Funeral services are set for Tuesday afternoon at the Madison Avenue Methodist church.
