59 students are enrolled in ASJC Nursing Program as it nears its first quarter end. The program expected 115 applicants and leads to a two year Associate In Arts degree. Classes use St Olaf Hospital Austin Owatonna City Hospital Owatonna for winter lab and Naeve Hospital Albert Lea from fall 1973. Of enrolled students 25 come from Austin 10 from Albert Lea and 24 from other areas.

Ironwood disposal site opens near Spring Valley Minnesota
A 143 acre sanitary landfill named Ironwood Disposal Systems opens for public use near Spring Valley serving Mower Fillmore and Howard counties. Area man hurt in garage fire in Stacyville Iowa
Dean Blake of Adams Motor Co. suffered third degree burns to his right forearm when a gasoline fire broke out in a Stacyville garage as he replaced a car gas tank. A defective trouble light may have caused it. Blake was rescued by his brother Tom and taken to Mitchell County Memorial Hospital Osage. Damage surpassed $5,000 as five cars, including an Iowa Highway Patrol vehicle, were damaged. Stacyville Fire Dept. extinguished the blaze.
