President Ford launched a drive to ease inflation and urged voters this November to back candidates who vote to cut government costs and restrain federal spending. He announced a plan to hold an economic summit within two weeks, presiding in person, with broad public coverage eyed.

Police and highway patrol officers arrested 29 year old Charles Brisley in Brooklin late Monday night. Brisley, an escapee from a Minnesota prison work camp, was jailed in Montezuma. He was found with a pistol in his possession.

Nine seek alderman at large including Lowell Einhaus 2107 4th Ave SE and Robert Ackerwold 1911 6th Ave NE. filing also includes John Schirmang 601 25th St SW.

Committee members dispute the choice, weighing implications of leaving Congress and listing other potential picks in alphabetical order. The report also outlines several local Austin alderman candidates across wards three, two and one with names, jobs, and affiliations.
Darrell Birdsall 27 of Anoka Minn drowned while scuba diving in Sugar Lake near Annandale Wright County Sheriff’s Office reports he developed trouble with his regulator and could not return to shore. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Ralph Birdsall.
