This week offers a fresh line of millinery and dress goods with new styles and colors not seen last year. Featured items include kid gloves, silk shirt waist suits at 25.00, plain colored silks at 19.00, Mohair suits, skirts, and long to medium lengths. Men’s linen collars shirts ties cuffs hosiery suspenders also on sale to ease Easter costs.
News from April 5 indicates part of the Russian Second Pacific Squadron was coaling at Kamranh Bay with vessels seen near the harbor. Manila reports three war vessels seen at Batangas at 4 o'clock Wednesday morning. Nationality not identified.
London reports say Japanese diplomats view the alleged Russian Pacific squadron stay in French waters as a grave breach of neutrality. Minister Hayashi and Baron Sugematsu hesitate to comment before official details, noting France may seek to avoid trouble and avoid compromising relations with Japan.
