Washington April 13 Initial steps to broker peace in Mexico were taken as Dr Vasquez Gomez head of the confidential agents for the revolution announced special arrangements for rapid telegraphic communication between Madero’s Chihuahua camp and Washington. A ciphered message awaits a reply within twenty four hours and right of way on Mexican lines is assured.
Washington reports two Democratic Ways and Means bills from Chairman Underwood aim to speed tariff action before general legislation. A Canadian reciprocity bill follows the McCall plan with a clause for continued talks on Canadian articles not in the pact. A free list bill would remove about 100 dutiable items including some foods and footwear to aid farmers.

Wheat prices in Duluth on April 12 show No 1 hard at 97 and 3/4 cents, No 1 Northern at 96 and 3/4, No 2 Northern at 93 and 4/5, with May at 95 and 6/5? cents and July at 96 5/???. Flax prices on track to arrive list May at 2.53 and June at 2.62 dollars per bushel.
