A 27 year old Excelsior woman Joann E Melin died and three children were injured Friday on Hwy 101. The Hennepin County medical examiner said Melin died just before 6 p.m. when a south bound car driven by Darrel Farr collided with a northbound vehicle driven by Edward Melin. Farr's car then struck Melin's vehicle. The incident raised Minnesota's 1974 highway death toll to 137.
