Other races reported include probate judge Paul D Carpenter, circuit court judges Lawrence W Halsey Warren D Tarrant and John C Ludwig reelected, and John J Winslow unopposed for supreme court. Several Wisconsin cities voted for Republican or Democratic mayors and local license measures.
St Paul and other towns report municipal elections as officers are chased away in a wave of local political action. In St Petersburg the Roosevelt vacation trip is seen as a setback for peace efforts with Russia and Japan. Analysts note Japan may demand direct acknowledgment of pacific intent or refuse Russian terms, keeping the war option alive. News from Moscow indicates Ro jestvensky's squadron is nearing Japan to challenge Admiral Togo.

Omaha did not vote due to special charter. Across Nebraska many small towns elected city tickets backing high license for liquor. principal interest focused on the license issue.
April 5 elections in Kansas saw Democrats carry Kansas City and Leavenworth, shocking gains in those cities. Topeka and Wichita chose the Republican ticket signaling a split result across the state.
