In Decatur Illinois on September 21 a fox wandered into a patrol car and stayed. Patrolman F E Hartnett and Patrolman Larry Withrow found the animal in the street and the fox hopped in the open door and would not leave. Hartnett took the fox home hoping it belongs to someone and will be missed.
In Coventry on Wednesday a 19 foot tall two ton solid bronze Lady Godiva statue rode through the city. The $56,000 sculpture, a gift from a local quarryman, was transported from London and set on a stone base. Mrs Lewis Douglas will unveil it October 22.
In New York on September 21 Mrs. Henry Morgenthau, widow of the former Treasury secretary, died after a long illness.
