Williamson Cotton Ginnings Fall Short of 1948 Pace
Williamson County cotton ginnings by Sept 1 totaled 10,062 acres ginned this year, far below the 27,441 ginned by Sept 1, 1948, per E C Dahlberg special agent, Census Bureau. Officials note a larger crop was expected, but last year’s drought and earlier season left this year’s figures low.
