116 MPH Winds Hit Miami As Storm Center Nears
Sustained winds of 101 mph with gusts to 116 mph battered Miami as the tropical hurricane approached. The death verdict of suicide was returned for Rev F L Hagberg 52 former Austin minister found in the San Antonio River. Funeral services set for Thursday 2 p m at Cook Funeral Home with burial at Decker Cemetery. Survivors include widow sister Agnes Hagberg and brother Knut Hagberg of Sweden. He once led Central Methodist Church Austin and held multiple church and college positions. An American Red Cross merit award noted for Travis County service in 1950 was found in his pocket. Police report indicate his wrists were bandaged, face cuts and claims of assault and robbery by four men two days earlier.
