Germany Starts On Road Back After Allied Agreement

West Germany began its return to world affairs after a joint communique with the United States Britain and France. The powers allowed retention of 18 major plants including August Thyssen Steel Works and halted dismantling in divided Berlin. Germany will rebuild a merchant fleet and seek consular ties while cooperating with Allied authorities to curb Nazi remnants and cartels. A termination of the state of war was noted as under study.

Dallas County to vote on $22.5 million road bond plan

Dallas voters will decide next January on a countywide road bond issue to fund seventy two new bridges and approaches across Dallas County streams at an estimated cost of 1,343,350 dollars. The plan accompanies a broader $22,500,000 bond proposal expanding road and bridge infrastructure.
