Minnie Fails As Turtle Dove For Oscar In Indiana
In Churubusco Indiana farmer Gale Harris hoped Minnie a 225 pound sea turtle would lure Oscar from his pond. Minnie proved unconvincing as Oscar avoided the luring tactic and was not attracted to Minnie or the float. Minnie was butchered for soup after the plan failed. Charles Rayhill earlier brought Minnie from Key West Florida to assist in the pursuit. Oscar remained in Harris pond as authorities noted the unlikely romance.
