Bedford-Jones Dies Author of 100 Books
H Bedford-Jones 62 a writer of historical novels and short stories died of heart disease Friday after two years of illness. Born in Napanee Ontario he published over 100 books in the United States and England. Survived by widow Mary and two daughters Mrs Max Kaminsky New York City and Helen Bedford-Jones Evansville Indiana. Funeral and burial in San Diego Monday.

Army To Buy Cotton For Occupied Areas
The Army announced it will purchase about 80 million dollars worth of American raw cotton equal to roughly 165000 bales for shipment to Japan. This marks the first transaction under the 150 million dollar natural fibers revolving fund program created by the last Congress to procure fibers in the United States for occupied areas.
