Suit seeks ruling on where to buy 1950 license plates

Kimble County and two Texas trucking firms file an in junction suit against the Texas Highway Department in 98th District Court seeking a declaratory judgment that Kimble County is the proper place to purchase their 1950 license plates. The action names Alamo Freight Lines Inc and Alamo Motor Lines Inc, County Judge M C Blackburn, and Tax Collector J O Wright. The plaintiffs contend headquarters and operations have been in Kimble County for 10 years and accuse state officials of directing plate purchases in Harris, Bexar, and El Paso Counties, alleging threats of prosecution if plates are bought in Kimble. They seek a temporary restraining order.
