Horrell Higgins Feud Sparks Texas Blood Feud 1873
On March 19 1873 an attempt to arrest Bill Bowen in a Lampasas barroom sparked the Horrell Higgins enmity. Captain Thomas Williams and troopers faced fire from Bowens supporters, the Higgins gang. The feud raged until 1877 when Rangers took over and a fragile truce followed but blood remained hot.
