Big Bend Sheriff O W Morrow Shot On Lone Road

Presidio County sheriff O W Morrow 43 died after being shot on a mountain road north of Presidio Texas Rangers highway patrol and deputies searched for suspects. He drove a mile toward Presidio after being wounded and the car left a wreck with bloodstains and a dragged fence. Investigators listed about 25 Mexicans and Texans seen in Ojinaca across the Rio Grande as persons of interest.

Slugged Photographer Suffers Skull Fracture

Olin Howard Harrison a 40 year old photographer was injured in a fight on Congress Avenue and is in serious condition at Brackenridge Hospital. Police seek a 23 year old Austin man suspected of slugging him as details say the attacker fled the scene after the assault. Vernon Dorsett of Vern's Bar reported seeing Harrison down in the street and identifying the aggressor.

Claude C. Shoemaker aged 48 died after a cottonseed rack collapsed while loading a truck at Plains Truck Line in Lamesa.
