A Mexican crash claim alleges a 46 foot aluminumlike flying saucer with two motors. a 23 inch pilot died and bodies were studied. Dimmick cites Mexican and American sources, says officials have seen wreckage, while Air Force denies investigations.
In Jonesville Louisiana Mrs Lester Hardy weighed 92 pounds and gave birth to a five pound son on Tuesday a six pound daughter on Wednesday and a seven pound daughter on Thursday making ten children in the family. Dr J A Nasif said all three babies were full term healthy and that the first and third were identical twins sharing a placenta while the second was a fraternal twin from a different placenta.
A windy day with mostly cloudy skies is predicted for Austin on Friday. The sun should appear in the afternoon warming to the mid 70s with a morning low near 52 degrees. Cooler Saturday is expected with showers, and the moon enters its last quarter Friday.
Austin figures a grand champion steer sold for 1.474 a pound to Harry Akin. Proceeds benefited Children’s Home and Settlement Club and Polio Incorporated. The steer was donated for resale to two Austin charities.
Manchester New Hampshire March 9 Dr Hermann N Sander was found innocent in 71 minutes Thursday of charges he murdered a hopeless cancer patient in an act of mercy to end her suffering. The 12 man jury freed the mild mannered country doctor who said he hopes to resume practice within weeks. The verdict elicited cheers from spectators and marked the end of a 14 day trial as Sander smiled and kissed his wife. The case now faces possible action by the New Hampshire Medical Society potentially expelling him and a review by the state board of medicine to decide any license consequences.
Judith Coplon, 28, given 15 years for spying for the Russians. Co defendant Valentin A. Gubitchev, 33, receives 15 years but with suspension pending immediate deportation to Russia. Judge Sylvester J. Ryan condemns both as a warning against aiding outsiders.
State Health Officer George W. Cox warned traffickers that Texas new law bans transport, display or sale of horse meat with stiff penalties. He noted possible federal stamp fraud as shipments move from Dallas to Houston and called the trade a million-dollar racket.
