If funds allow, the Driftwood segment may extend to about 15 miles. Fayette County Faces Low Tax Rate and Road Needs

Fayette County Judge H W Pitman says the levy at 45 cents per hundred valuation reflects insufficient revenues to run county government. A peaceful two years loom with one new official, County Attorney J P Hart, and Precinct 2 commissioner R A Pietsch. Focus lies on raising salaries for low-wage workers and adding vault space for the county clerk, with a projected $30 cash-funded vault expansion. Road funding dominates, prioritizing farm to market gravel routes over complete paving as the county schedules four project segments totaling about 15.1 miles to connect Fayetteville, Ellinger, Schulenberg, Freyburg, Muldoon, Warrenton and surrounding areas.
