Nine UN Soldiers Freed by North Koreans in Korea
Nine prisoners of war from the United States Britain and South Korea were released Sunday by North Korean captors near the front in northeast Korea. The Americans Corporal Earl E. Roush Albert Billingsley and Private First Class Vincent Sasci were among the freed. The British were Lance Corporal Walter Marvin Fusilier Harold Farm and Fred Binns. They were moved south by night and released in front of UN lines after saying they saw no Chinese soldiers. UN Eighth Army intelligence cautioned that such releases may be propaganda tricks.
