Federal Mediator To Call Talk On San Antonio Bus Strike
Walter C. White of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service will summon company and union reps to a conference by Friday to resolve San Antonio’s three day bus strike over wages. The union seeks about 19 cents an hour but could settle near five cents above pre strike levels. Drivers form 600 of 800 workers and earned 1.26 dollars hourly. White has held separate talks with each side. the mayor's fact finding board idea awaits company cooperation.

In San Antonio on August 3, Mrs. Jean Audrey Briscoe aged 32 was confirmed a polio case. She is the twin sister of Mrs Grace Wier who died of polio Tuesday before delivering her baby by Caesarean. Wier and her son were buried Wednesday. Briscoe's son Bailer and Wier's son Ronald remain patients at Robert Green Hospital.
