New York April 28 Russia's senior UN official Arkady Sobolev Assistant Secretary General resigned Thursday to return to the Soviet foreign ministry in Moscow.
Secretary-General Trygve Lie announced Sobolev's resignation due to ill family health. Konstantin Zinchenko, former head of the Soviet delegation to the UN, will replace him with a total package of $30,500 tax free. Western observers link the change to Berlin blockade talks and the German question.
