Indian attack on government train near El Paso

A government transport with fourteen wagons was attacked by Indians near El Paso on the 2nd inst. Six men died and were scalped, the survivors escaped. One hundred mules were stolen and goods worth 30,000 dollars destroyed. Fort Ewell sent five rifle parties. The wagons belonged to Major Chapman's train. Citizens urged the Governor to call out volunteers.
