A long notice describes Robert Criswell’s new three story block at Main and Third streets. The brick and iron structure features a 6 by 50 foot frontage, Italianate styling, large open ground floor rooms, a broad central hall, and a 4249 by 16 foot auditorium with a stage and chandeliers. Finished with heavy timber, whitewashed walls, and fire cisterns, the building is praised as first class and a civic ornament, with credit given to architects J. W. Mills & Co and local tradesmen.
