The Cherokee county board of supervisors, at the September 27 meeting, decided no snow fence on non mail route school bus roads. All roads that are both mail and school routes will be fenced except in Cherokee and Pilot townships and the east half of Rock townships. Some mail routes will have one way fencing. They will avoid fencing in Cherokee, Pilot and the east half of Rock townships to allow plowing. The county has 1200 miles of roads and 53 miles of fence. more fencing is needed due to more fields in small grain. Owners are urged to cut weeds along roadsides to prevent snow buildup.
