Northwest Iowa conference curtails church activities this week
Owing to the Northwest Iowa conference the Sunday school worship service and Epworth league will not meet next Sunday. Bishop McGee will preach at 10:30 at First Methodist. County Ladies Aid meets Oct 8 at Mount Pleasant church. Cotton Blossom Singers perform Oct 1 at 8 pm at the Methodist church with a free will offering.

Gasoline Spill After Belmond Crash Cleaned by Fire Dept
A gasoline truck driven by Adolph Wenzel and a car driven by Albert Dorr collided in Belmond. About 120 gallons spilled onto the street and the fire company washed the pavement to remove the spill.

Claus Schnoor of Woodward recovers from pneumonia after a hard fight. Two weeks ago he injured his foot when a truck end gate fell on it, breaking bones. He later fell on crutches and required four stitches after hitting his head.
