The state conservation commission reports Buena Vista county waters will receive over half a million fish by year end 1942. Stocking focuses on Little Sioux river Linn Grove and Sioux Rapids, Storm Lake, with catfish, bullheads, crappies, pike fry, bluegill adults and yearlings to expand sport fishing opportunities.
The report lists allocations of fingerlings and adults: 6 500 fingerlings 5 000 fingerling large mouth bass 1 000 white crappie fingerlings 1 500 adult black crappie and 1 400 fingerling yellow perch destined for stocking programs.
In District Court No 3807 the last will of Sigismund Matzdorff, dated June 19 1981, was filed and read. A hearing is set for October 8 at Cherokee Court House at 10:00 AM before the District Court or Clerk. H. K. Wilson and Wm. Koobs finished threshing quickly near Gundy Center. Five tractors hauled bundles and grain, an electric motor powered the grain elevator, and six men with young boys operated the crew.
