Public notice lists ad pricing for Cherokee County and surrounding area. In advance rates apply, with separate outside county pricing. Classifieds cost 15 cents per line with a 75 cent minimum. Cards of Thanks priced at 1.50 each per insertion.
Mary Circle of United Methodist Church meets Thursday at 8 p.m. at the church. United Methodist Women held Sept 8 in Fellowship Hall with Mrs. Verna Lockin as host and Mrs. Hugo Hucke leading the meeting. Guest speaker Mrs. Mavis Stoner County Public Health Nurse spoke about services. Diamond Doors to meet at Mrs. Evan Josin home Sept. and Friendly Seniors held potluck with 76 attendees from nearby towns. Donations of eyeglasses and used stamps noted for charity. A SIMPCO speaker will discuss Congregate Meals next Monday at 7:30 p.m. Bingo and social activities follow.
An Open House honors the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest A. Tuttle at St Paul Lutheran Church Aurelia. The event for Ernie and Florence runs Sunday September 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
Through Friday Sept 23 the Cherokee County Fund Drive seeks support for 14 charities with volunteer solicitors. Wednesday 9:30 a.m. Businessmen's Coffee at Mike's Cafe. Aurelia Commercial Club members and spouses welcome. Tonight 8 p.m. Farmers Co-Op Co. annual meeting at Aurelia Community Center with guest speaker prizes and lunch. Open house at St Paul and St John Lutheran Hanover churches tonight and tomorrow. Wednesday Sept 28 Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sisters district convention registration at Aurelia Community Center at noon.
A come and go shower for Julie Glienke Pelton, daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert Glienke, will be at St Johns Lutheran Church Hanover on Saturday the 24th from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. All friends and relatives are invited. Please bring a favorite recipe.
St Paul Lutheran Church of Aurelia hosts the Fall Rally of the Cherokee zone Lutheran Women's Missionary League on Tuesday September 27 with 9 30 to 10 30 a m registration. The theme is Open Mine Eyes and the morning session features a business meeting led by Mrs Earl Ebert Washta followed by a Bible Study on Camping Mini
Pastor Leroy Riemers of Sutherland leads an afternoon program with a Philippines mission slide presentation. The Christian Growth skit will be presented by Trinity Lutheran of Cherokee.
