City Council Orders Cement Crossings and Repairs
At a regular meeting the council ordered two more cement street crossings built by the street committee this fall and continued next year. A Fire Company petition for a light near the city hall for emergencies was granted, Fraser's corner gas light to be lit, and a petition to remove the city seal rejected for now. Bills paid included Cherokee Manufacturing Co. and Layton Bros. The issue of removing the seal remains debated among farmers. The issue of marriage reports: Me Harry Jackson and Miss Katie Kane wed at Lake Preston South Dakota September 4, with plans for their new home and a Sept 20 return to town.
