The Aurelia Sentinel lists publication terms: weekly Thursday issue with second class mail at Aurelia Post Office, Iowa. It shows Cherokee County rates and outside county pricing, with classified ads at 10 cents per line minimum 50 cents, and Cards of Thanks at $1 per insertion.
A wedding narrative notes the best man, ushers, and a flower girl. The groom and best man wore white dinner jackets with blue carnation boutonnieres, while ushers Lloyd Buddenhagen and Augie Rosentnater attended. The flower girl Carol Braunschweig wore white brocade with blue accents and scattered red rose petals.
The ceremony featured Milton Warkentien as ring bearer and a reception for about 100 guests in the church parlors. Attendees included relatives from Cherokee Storm Lake and Storm Lake with travel to Northern Minnesota and Seattle. The bride from Aurelia and groom from Storm Lake plan to reside in Storm Lake after graduating from local schools and colleges.
Square dancing lessons will be held at the Community building in Alta. The Storm Lake Square Dancing Club sponsors an organizational meeting on September 5 at 8 30 p m. All interested are invited to attend.
Mr and Mrs Gus Ohison thank the Aurelia Fire Department and local neighbors for their prompt aid in extinguishing the silo fire Tuesday afternoon. They express gratitude for the help and support received.
A letter thanks volunteers for help in preparing and serving meals at a sale. The writer expresses gratitude for food, lunch service, and kindness, noting it will not be forgotten.
Mr and Mrs Albert Engdahl and Mr and Mrs Kenneth Engdahl attended the wedding of Mary Lou Falbe and Eugene Schipper in Chicago on August 14. They then enjoyed an eight day vacation touring Michigan, Canada and Minnesota. Mrs Kenneth Engdahl joined a Chero kee County Little Symphony Guild meeting at the Kenneth Olseth residence in Cherokee Tuesday morning. Also noted are travels of I H Leonard Ike Arthur and Fraser Leonard of Clarksville Arkansas to Washington DC.
Mr and Mrs Fraser Leonard attended Eliza beth Leonard and John Mayo wedding in McLean Virginia and visited Mrs S H Leonard Sr. They joined a family reunion with siblings Harold Cole Harris Emory Leonard and Woodrow Leonard plus families from Macon and Valdosta Georgia. They toured Washington DC and returned Saturday morning with Arthur Leonard en route to the College of the Ozarks this fall.
