Hog Prices Expected Steady With Slight Seasonal Shift
Hog prices are not expected to surge this December as last year but may not fall as much as usual. Farm economist Francis Kutish of Iowa State College notes December usually marks a seasonal low, though last year diverged. He cites no signs of sharp price gains or major meat supply changes, predicting a mild fall and winter decline, with a later winter low due to later spring farrowings.
