A Union of two stories from the past week recounts Mamie Harker’s remarkable facial reconstruction in Chicago after a severe injury, costing 800 dollars but restoring her appearance and easing public scrutiny as she nears home. Also noted is the fifteenth wedding anniversary celebration for Mr. and Mrs. W. Dick, marked by surprise guests, a humorous ceremony, and gifts, in a city setting with neighbors and friends sharing cake and fruit.
The Congregational church in Cherokee is to receive a new pipe organ costing $2,000 and installed within sixty days. A mysterious donor funded the gift, kept secret until the organ’s first recital, known to only one person at present.
