Fire tugs and ships aided, with millions in losses and widespread damage across Duluth and Superior. The Peavey Globe elevator fire was contained, and nearby Peyton Kimball Barber saw no major damage.
Marian Hurley, a stylish Chicago girl, pled guilty to a three store theft spree in Judge Saddler’s court at Harris Street station. The Cosmopolitan Shipping Company sues the Hamburg American, North German Lloyd, Wilson Lines, and the Scandinavian Line arguing the Interstate Commerce Commission lacks subject matter jurisdiction over carrier rates. Attorneys for the lines have demurred to the complaint. The ICC has set Tuesday December 3 for arguments on the demurrer.
Elizardo Maceo, American citizen and son of a famed Cuban general, was seized by Nicaraguan forces aboard the Pacific liner San Juan at Corinto and jailed in Managua after hiding in his cabin.
