The community hosted a string of social items with the American Legion Auxiliary planning Christmas gifts for Mental Health Institute residents and displays in a local store window. Members will craft items for the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls. A Christmas party with a $1 gift exchange is slated for December 7 at 2 p.m. Other notices include a Ladies Aid gathering with 24 attendees featuring the Lindquist brothers, a Heather Schipper shower, a Cherokee Community Center luncheon on November 19, a Deck the Halls Hospital Auxiliary feature, Pal Club hosting a dessert lunch, a baptism at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alta, and various family attendees and sponsors listed.
Sunday afternoon visitors included the Galvin and Fox families from Aurelia and Spirit Lake along with the Jenness family. Aurelia Temple No 72 Pythian Sisters plans a 2:00 PM meeting this Wednesday. The Pinochle Club held a Storm Lake dinner farewell for Mrs Gene Kline with high scores by Mrs Jim Nelson and second by Mrs Bob Forbes. Steve Luetkeman and family hosted dinner for Michael’s birthday.
The hot lunch plan runs Monday to Friday from November 15 to 19. Each day features a main dish with sides and milk. options include raviolls, pork patty, tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, sandwich choices, and dessert like pudding or pie.
An open miscellaneous shower for Bonnie Hasenwinkel will be held November 13 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fellowship Hall starting with a 1 30 p.m. salad luncheon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
