Mary Eathel Demarest was born November 19 1885 in Cherokee County Iowa and died October 29 1957 in Iowa City at 71 11 10. She married Thomas P Griffith September 12 1906 at Aurelia Iowa and had three children Lola Laurence and Leonard. She taught in rural schools and was a member of the Aurelia Methodist Church with several family members predeceasing her.
Mrs. Griffith of Aurelia dies and is mourned by daughter Lola, sons Lawrence and Leonard, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers. Funeral conducted by Rev. Forrest E. Flowers at Wharton Funeral Home on Nov 2 with special music. Interment in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
