Mrs. John Stiner, longtime resident of Aurelia area, died Monday at her home in Afton township after over two years of poor health. Born Annette Anderson in Scraloff Sweden on November 17 1866 she came to Marcus Iowa in 1888 and married John Stiner on March 7 1898 in Cherokee. Survived by husband three children Mary Fred and Glenn at home two half sisters Mrs George Josephson and Mrs Eric Carlson and one half brother Harmon Nelson of Monmouth Illinois.
R E Van Buskirk returns from Reamer Minnesota to finalize a garage building sale with Mrs Addie Harkex. J M Grimes buys the Carroll Herald from J B Hungerford and son. Mrs D H Carpenter passes after illness and paralysis in October. Clarence Nelson and Carl Turnquist form a coop auto repair venture in Alta, opening November 1. Community interest grows in a cooperative creamery to boost returns for local producers.
Mrs. Lucy Sedgwick and Miss Marion Bublitz of Altamont South Dakota visit Albert Parker family with Parker relatives. Mr. Dick Prange and children of Bennett South Dakota stay Friday to Monday. Purl Johns Carl Johnson and Sophia Johns joined Chas Robinsons for Sunday at their home. Fern Higgins from Gillett Grove stays with her aunt Mrs. Wm Menfee. Mr and Mrs Henry Stevens and Emma of Cherokee spent Sunday at Elaphyisht.

H H Richardson faced charge of receiving stolen property in the Audley Fogleman case and was acquitted by a jury last Thursday. Red Owl Stores Inc with HQ in Minneapolis leased the Clark building on South Fourth Street for five years. Cherokee’s east hill paving and bridge project is complete with detour signs likely removed tonight.
