Roosters Sent for High Quality Eggs Advice
Carl N. Kennedy assistant secretary of agriculture says sending roosters to market when hatching eggs are not needed ensures higher quality eggs in warm weather. He notes infertile eggs won’t form blood rings, stay fresh longer, and fetch more money for producers and consumers. Kennedy adds production won’t drop and roosters bring higher early season prices.

New Well In Aurelia Reaches 302 Feet in Drilling
Rasmussen & Sons halted work Monday after a ten inch hole reached 302 feet. They plan pumping today for a test to gauge water output and whether a screen is needed. About 75 feet of water is present and conditions suggest a near inexhaustible supply. If satisfactory, pumping will switch from the old well to the new, with a hollow tile enclosure built. The town will then have two reliable wells and a continuous water works system. The May 1 start faced few weather delays and the $7.92 per foot rate yields a total town cost of $2,391.84 for drilling.
