Social items note a birthday party hosted at Gowrie for Raymond Kruse and Lori Cuthrell with attendees including John Patterson, Ronald Cuthrell, Christine etc. Sunset Knoll Auxiliary met with 14 members approving committees for the annual open house and Candy Stripers recognition on June 13. The group voted to fund flowers and plants for planters and to buy a tray chair for the home. The June birthday party will be sponsored by the United Methodist Church.
Mr and Mrs W E Whitney returned May 13 from a voyage that began Feb 24 in Sioux City. They flew to California to visit son Tom, sailed on the Astrid Bakke to Hong Kong and Manila, then to Singapore and Jakarta for tea duties before reaching Fremantle. A series of air and bus journeys took them through Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji, Hawaii and back to Aurelia via San Francisco.
The Cherokee Branch of the American Association of University Women held a May 19 dinner meeting with Mrs. Tom Miller speaking on Being an A.A.U.W. Member. Officers for 1971 73 were introduced and topics for study announced.
