The A.C.C. met Wednesday at Mrs. Jim Wolcott’s home with 15 members present. Roll call revealed plans for Memorial Day. Mrs. Harry Pingel led the meeting. Mrs. Russell Allen reported on planting two Silver Maple trees. Mrs. Joseph R. Smith attended.
The report covers a noon potluck for World War I Veterans Bar racks and Auxiliary at Elmer Jacobson’s in Larrabee with leaders Commander Roger Leavitt and Mrs. L. E Rollison. It notes lap robes for hospitalized veterans, Memorial Day readings, district reports, and a Past Presidents pin. The next meeting is May 26 with Mrs. Raymond Zwick, then a July 14 picnic at Calumet Shelter House. Ben and Kim Huseman depart for six weeks in Europe from the Sunday following.
Mr and Mrs Dorrel Huseman hosted an invitational open house Friday night at their home. The event honored Jim Huseman for graduating from Morningside College Kim Huseman for Buena Vista College graduation and Frank Huseman for his Confirmation Also a bon voyage for Kim and Ben Relatives and friends attended Mrs Gerald Anderson and Beth were among the guests.
Parents of the senior class hosted a coffee in the old gym after the awards night honoring seniors faculty staff and the school board. Sponsors wives served coffee and punch at a blue and ivory decorated T shaped table.
Mr and Mrs Conrad Lundsgaard Mr and Mrs Harold Peterson Mr and Mrs Maurice Peterson and Mr and Mrs Filmore Gustafson hosted a 350 guest reception at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cherokee on Sunday for Aurelia High School graduates Mark Anderson Niels Lundgaard Melanie Peterson Sue Smith and Cherokee High School graduate Steve Gustafson plus Lyle Whiting and Kirk Lawrence Whiting Mrs Lois Masten and Mrs Mildred Anderson The day featured a corsage for the honoree and many gifts flowers and phone calls from granddaughters Don Calvert and Susie Ohlson to conclude the celebration.
Mrs. Myrtle Whiting was guest of honor at a birthday dinner in Storm Lake on Wednesday. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Anderson with Ursula and Neal, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Barnett, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ohlson, Mrs. Gladys Peck of Cherokee, and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Resene with others.
Sunset Knoll Auxiliary will meet at the home Monday May 24 at 2 00 Notice change of date Mr and Mrs Kenneth Johnson entertained 60 relatives and friends at a reception in their home Sunday afternoon and evening in honor of their son Alan s graduation from Aurelia High School
