Mrs Minnie Lewis 78 died at Alta hospital last Thursday. Funeral at Wharton Funeral Home Aurelia Sunday at 2:30 with singing by Mrs Roy Matzdorff and Mrs A E Stutz and piano by Mrs O C Waddell. Burial in Aurelia cemetery. Survived by three sons Leslie Cherokee and Dwight Donnelly Idaho and James Aurelia. sister Mrs Flossie Bischel Whittier California. four grandchildren Lovell Wheeler Peterson and Mardell Jerry Gary Lewis Aurelia.

Kathleen Winterhof, two, died after her arm was caught in a washing machine wringer at the family home 14 miles east and 5 miles south of Aurelia in Hanover. Found by her mother, she died of shock en route to a doctor in Alta. Services were held Sunday at Larson Funeral Home in Alta and St. John's Lutheran, Hanover, with Rev. J. H. Witzgall officiating.

The Alta high school track team won the Sioux Valley Conference meet held here on Tuesday evening with 734 points, Aurelia second with 68. Crosser of Primghar was standout with wins in the 100 yard dash and broad jump and helped two winning relays. Eight schools competed, with multiple records set including new marks in the 2 mile relay and medley relay, and Aurelia broke a 1939 2 mile record. The Aurelia and Primghar squads shared awards as officials noted list of event results and final standings.
