East Afton and Elk residents shopped in Alta and Storm Lake on Saturday. The Booths visited LeMars and took Mrs Brangwin home. Hines of Aurelia called on the Bill Booths Tuesday evening. Clyde Fox and family welcome a baby girl. Emil Samuels of Sioux City visited in the Betcher home Tuesday. Haight family returned from the Bill Haight home. Betchers and James Betcher visited Cherokee Monday. Mrs Wm Betcher departed for Sioux City. Fred Kolpin hurt his leg feeding cattle Monday. Frank Betcher plans a new home on Henry Sansen’s place.
A local library gains a sizable donation list from Mrs. Moses Mummert including works by Hugo Meredith Wolfe and Kipling plus biographies, histories, travelogues, and classic novels such as Ivanhoe and Les Misérables.
Notice to qualified electors of Cherokee County Iowa that a primary election will be held June 4 1928 at regular precinct polling places. Polls open 9 a m to 8 p m. Republican and Democratic nominees to fill multiple state and county offices plus township and precinct posts. Includes signatures and the county auditor seal of Cherokee County.

A wind storm caused damage, and several local residents visited others over the weekend. The death of the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rhea is announced with community sympathy.
